• Are teachers using technology vocabulary in context? As teachers we tend to focus on the core curriculum content versus the technology content. Do our students know the definition of multimedia? Can students identify, name, and implement various forms of media?
• Have we as teachers acknowledged how multimedia has evolved? I know personally, four years ago when students created multimedia products it usually was contained in a PowerPoint. But now with video creation, editing, and sharing at our student’s finger tips, are we taking the time to identify its many facets?
• Are we building opportunities within our lessons for students to reflect? When students create a product that incorporates multiple forms of media, it is likely to include the application of new learning through an ongoing task or project. The product that is created should naturally lend itself to reflection by encompassing summarization, producing opportunities for feedback, and providing platform to share newfound knowledge.

Lesson Ideas:
- Shapes: Have students take pictures or find pictures online of various shapes and then have them explain the attributes and the name
- Hero essay? Have students fine a picture of their hero and then have them speak and explain what makes them hero.
- Inventors? find a picture of the inventor and have them explain what they invented and how it has changed/helped society

Display and Sharing:
Save the video to your camera roll, upload it to your DropBox and make public, then you can create a QR code that directly links to student work or you can create an Aurasma (print out picture of the Chatterpix to be your trigger photo) and then download your video to play when scanned.

When creating lessons are you SMART with your time? Do you create all your Smart Notebook lesson from scratch?

Every unit I taught I would always curate all of my resources into a Smart Notebook file, this would prevent me from searching my computer for files and it kept me on pace... I have the tendency start a lesson about elapsed time and end up discussing the digestive system. The week before a lesson I would spend time after school creating a SmartNotebook file that would be my melting pot of CScope Lessons, SmartExchange slides, TpT, Castleberry Curriculum, Google images to help students see vocabulary, intervention materials, word problems, center activities, individually practice, helpful websites, tutorial videos (Educreations, YouTube, Khan Academy...) and whatever else I could find to help my students obtain content mastery. I would also include what materials were needed for each part of the lesson along with classroom management tools (timers, random name selectors, group creators...).   To help keep me organized I would usually color code the background of my slides, ex: all yellow is slides are for day 1 of the lesson, blue day 2....
